Lockdown London
Lockdown London is a frantic strategy game made for the AI Directed Game Jam.
A mysterious virus is ripping through London and you are the one in charge. Will you slam every borough into lockdown? Will you let everyone out because the public is starting to grumble? Will you try to juggle hospital resources, political pressure and a virus that seems to enjoy mutating just to ruin your day?
Your mission is simple: keep the city alive. The execution is… not so simple.
Everything in this game was made by AI. The art. The music. The code. Even this description you are reading right now was written by a robot that is probably judging your choices already.
Expect hard decisions, unexpected mutations and a healthy dose of gallows humour. After all, nothing says “fun” like trying to stop a fictional apocalypse on a timer.
Features:
-
Lock down London boroughs before the virus spreads
-
React to ever changing mutations that make your life miserable
-
Balance public outrage, hospital chaos and infection rates
-
A dark and slightly ridiculous tone inspired by real world crisis management
Can you save London or will it all end in viral fire?
Tools used:
The main AI used was OpenAI's o3 through Cursor. Music and sound effects were Eleven Labs. The AI was pretty good at writing the code and creating features but took a lot of handholding to do anything with the user interface. I probably spent most of the time fighting with it over small changes, wheras some of the bigger features were done really quickly. The cleverest thing the AI did the map of London. It was done by getting the boundary coordinates from Ordnance Survey, converting to GeoSJON and then turning those into coordinates for a polygon.
